Clarity’s lifestyle changes program for weight loss offers a comprehensive, multidisciplinary program for weight reduction. Clarity’s weight loss program is designed to create lasting lifestyle changes to help you lose the weight, but most importantly keep it off. Clarity’s specialists understand the challenges and complexity of weight loss. There are no simple solutions because permanent weight loss is a lifelong effort and requires serious commitment. Ellen Welter – PT, DPT, COMT, CCN
Ellen graduated form the university of Iowa’s Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation program with a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2010. She enjoys being a physical therapist to help individuals return to function and reduce through physical therapy, she has also had a fascination with nutrition and how it affects different disease processes. In the fall of 2016, Ellen began a Nutrition program at the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy at Tufts University. Armed with new information, Ellen has been working on development of programming aimed at helping those fight lifestyle disease processes with nutrition education and behavior management.
Ellen's Nutrition philosophy: Healthy eating is attainable for everyone and can be achieved through different pathways, the one that works best for that individual patient. There are no magical diets to adhere to or strict meal plans, instead the nutritional education offered to clients is aimed to educate on what healthy choices look like in the many different aspects of living, so that it can be maintained long term. Changes tend to be slower, but more permanent with this approach. This is best meant for those looking to make permanent changes in their life.
Kim Neva – MS, RDN, CSOWM, LDN
Kim is a licensed and registered dietitian who has been practicing nutrition counseling for the last 9 years. A native of the Chicago suburbs, Kim attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where she received her Bachelors degree in Food Science and Human Nutrition. She completed her dietetic internship at the Edward Hines Jr. VA Hospital and has a Master's Degree in Nutrition and Wellness from Benedictine University. A seasoned dietitian, she has worked with patients who suffer from all types of illnesses and diseases. She uses an evidence-based, food-forward approach to help her patients heal and improve their health. For the last six years, Kim has specialized in weight management where she teaches mindful eating, obesity management, weight loss and weight loss maintenance.
Kim's mission is to translate food and nutrition information to her patients in a way they can sustainably change their behavior, improve their relationship with food and live a long and healthy life. Kim currently resides in La Grange, IL where she lives with her husband.
