Craig Mawdsley, PT, DPT, COMT, FAAOMPT

Craig Mawdsley graduated from Midwestern University College of Health Sciences with a Masters in Physical Therapy in 2002, undertook a clinical residency in Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy (OMPT) and earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from the Ola Grimsby Institute (OGI) in 2006. He went on to complete a fellowship with OGI and was named a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists in 2008. Craig has served as a clinical instructor for DPT students from institutions like the University of Illinois at Chicago, Northwestern University, Midwestern University College of Health Sciences and Governors State University. Teaching experience ranges from guest lecturing and mentoring for the OMPT Fellowship program at the University of Illinois at Chicago, and many regional manual therapy courses. Craig has worked with the Nike Marathon Training team, hosting and giving seminars related to running optimization and injury prevention. Craig brings 15 years of clinical teaching to the Western Springs community.

Ellen Welter, PT, DPT, COMT, Nutritionist

Ellen Welter graduated from the University of Iowa’s Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Science Program with a doctor of physical therapy degree in 2010. Ellen’s passion for physical therapy developed at a much earlier age due to her involvement in competitive soccer. Soccer led to several injuries including, an ACL reconstruction, which exposed her to the benefit of excellent manual physical therapy, allowing her to return to playing soccer which she still enjoys today. She continued her journey into the profession of physical therapy by working with a lead physical therapy group in Iowa as an exercise technician, implementing lifting programs designed to prevent injury and helping run a performance enhancement camp.

Ellen has a passion for life long learning and has her manual therapy certificate (COMT) from Maitland Physiotherapy Seminars.  Learn more about Maitland Physical Therapy here.

Ellen enjoys working with individual patients to help them achieve their personal goals during treatment.

Ellen recently completed a year long certificate program with Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy at Tufts University.  With this new set of knowledge Ellen has begun several programs for Weight Loss, Mindful Eating and will continue to develop programming to combat lifestyle diseases.

Kevin Callahan , PT, DPT, CMPT

Kevin Callahan is a 2006 graduate of Midwestern University’s inaugural Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) program.  Following PT school, he pursued a post-doctorate level II certification in manual physical therapy from the North American Institute of Manual Physical Therapy (NAIOMT) and is currently completing the Certified Manual Physical Therapist (CMPT) residency.  Kevin is a Certified Clinical Instructor (CI) through the American Physical Therapy Association and has served as mentor for students internationally, including Trinity College of Dublin, University College Dublin and Hong Kong Polytechnic University.  He has instructed continuing education courses for established clinicians, provided injury prevention seminars for University Club of Chicago and performance enhancement Roosevelt University athletics.  By using applied biomechanics and manual skills; Kevin optimizes patients’ ability to improve full function.

Outside the clinical setting, Kevin enjoys spending time with his wife and kids, cooking, cycling and gardening.
